Downers Grove is the larger town west of Clarendon Hills, and the only one on our map with three BNSF stops of its own. Its housing spans more than a century — Victorian and prewar homes near the downtown station, postwar ranches through the middle, and substantial newer rebuilds filling in the gaps — all of it under some of the heaviest tree cover in the county.
That century of housing means we arrive never quite knowing what is behind the door, which is exactly why our whole-door diagnosis matters more here than anywhere. A 1920s garage near the Main Street station and a 2015 rebuild three blocks away need entirely different parts and entirely different judgement. Heavy tree cover adds its own line to the list: limbs come down in summer storms and ice loads, and panels and tracks take the hit.
